I don't really like listening to traditional Christmas songs because sometimes they can be sooo Christ-y it can feel overbearing.... Its strange that I grew up listening to them though... (being Muslim and all...) but they still are beautiful and take me back to being a kid on Christmas day and playing with my Popples or walkie doggie or spirograph or Sky dancer.... or eating rumcake
I mean I wasn't listening to the bright eyes version... usually the random calypso/ anne murray ones my dad has... but these can serve the purpose, and are much more angsty.
Hope all is well and you're almost done all of your xmas shopping.
yay! One of my Favourite Photostreams is the one made by artist Kris Trappeniers. This photostream doesn't only include fantastic shots of street art but also photographs of his amazing art work and works in progress. My favourite of his pieces has to be the intricate stencil work that Kris Trappeniers does of his unique drawing style. Its all really quite beautiful and impressive.
I just watched the last episode of "The Adventures of Tintin" and I want to cry! they're so great Destination Moon and Explorers on the moon were epic! I thought it was gonna be lame cause it wouldn't be like a regular Tintin episode but it was still packed with awesome! someone even died! I can't remember watching another kid show where someone dies... Also I love seeing the Herge cameos. I need to find another show I used to watch when I was a kid about adventures and watch them all.... Rupert? ... but I remember everything from that.... WHAT?! I was watching dragon ball with my clone before but it got taken off youtube. hmmm.
Whatever... did you guys hear about the new Tintin movie coming out by the way? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are making the movie and from the stills I've seen it looks like I'm going to combust spontaneously around the time of release from excitement.
SAW HARRY POTTERZ. it was rad. so much scarier than the other movies. I read the book sooooo long ago and had forgotten things that happen in it.... the first half of the book was pretty boring to me... like it was semi agonizing to read. The movie seemed to cut down on that and still have the effect of sticking with the story. But yeah I don't think anyone who didn't read the books or haven't been caught up with the other movies would have liked it, cause it would be difficult to follow if you don't know all the characters. whatever the movie was rad. NEVILLEEE <3 my favourite character was in it for a few seconds also.
I just finished watching like a Nevermind the Buzzcocks marathon, I hadn't seen the new season at all so just watched like 6 episodes on youtube with my clone. They're all pretty farking hilarious. FAVOURITE EPISODE SO FAR:
I'm going to wish for insanely rad things I could never have now.
1. Trampoline room.
I've wanted one of these ever since I saw that Dharma and Greg episode where it showed her childhood room.
It was just a massive room with a trampoline for a floor...
It would be rad. Imagine opening your door just to step onto a trampoline. of course Id need a bigger room, a really high padded ceiling and like a net to catch me before I hit the walls and propel me back onto the trampoline floor for infinite bouncing. Actually theres no way i could do anything in that room other than trampoline, I think id have to extend my house and just use that room for purely trampolining.
By the way i tried looking this up on google and apparently it doesn't exist. what does exist are scary ass rooms with trampolines side by side with the metal beams covered by foam......... AH! talk about scary shit! foam can't stop metal beams from breaking your spine once you land on them!
2. Five alive drinking fountain
Five alive is like the nectar of the gods. Its my favourite fruit drink.... just soooo goood.
A drinking fountain with just chilled five alive would be amazing. definitely worthy of being on this list.
haha this one actually exists... Serigraphie Populaire make such gorgeous amazing work! I've been in love with their prints and posters forever.
For 500$ "We are once again offering a print subscription for 2010. Subscribers get one copy of EVERYTHING we make during the year starting January 1st. Posters , prints , books and zines"
AHHHHHHHHHHHH! gosh I don't know what I'd do with all that awesome but what a great collection it would be. I'd buy it if I had my own home.... and could afford it....
4. Pierre Hardys
I have to wish for this everytime! one day I'll be rich enough to afford these... or just give in and drive myself to the poor house.
but yeah awesome!
I know alot of people hate christmas music.... But I pretty much love it. Just the beginning of November is a bit much and they can get annoying expescially if you listen to the radio alot.
Ill post some rad holiday songs randomly through December. They're slightly different from the traditional ones. But they're pretty great still.
I can't find this... I guess It got killed when my computer died.... this is the best youtube video though....
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - "Anunciation Day/Born On Christmas Day"
Heres some scans of some stickers I made. Mostly on the subway. Funnn. I thought maybe it would be cool that if someone talked to me about my drawings or liked them I could give them one with my name and flickr site on the back. But no one on the subway has yet... :( I have sent a few to my friends on flickr who collect stickers though. I'm gonna send some to a few of these sticker exhibitions, maybe if they like them they'll be up in the respective galleries.
The first 3 stickers are from Change songs. I've posted a song from them before I'm sure. I really like Change. They have soo many songs and so many really great ones.
UUU RRR MY MEL..... ody. <3
Hahah im such a strange girl. I'm glad I like such cheesy/classy amazing songs.
Honestly though, how could you listen to that song and not forget all the shit going on in your life for atleast a few seconds.
